This area is located in the east end of town in close proximity to the Bund, the Forbidden City, the Nanjing Road, and the Bund River. It is home to many tourists and is the preferred shopping destination of many Chinese nationals.

Sanlitun is well-known for its glamorous nightlife and fashionable dining scene. Upscale Chinese cafes serve roast duck, international bistros and delis offer European cuisine, and small shops sell fried dumplings and dried noodles to revelers spilling into the street. The large Taikoo Li shopping mall is home to many international chains and modern outdoor statues.

Visitors can watch different martial arts shows and learn various Kung Fu moves in one of the many Kung Fu studios that are situated around the city.

What is the best time to visit Bibei Sanlitun? Well, the summer months when the weather is mostly pleasant and the crowds are far smaller. Otherwise, it is always a good idea to visit during the winter when temperatures drop down into the low twenties. The weather is usually pretty decent in January through March. and April so long as it is not raining heavily.

The last but not least, one of the main attractions in Sanlitun is the famous Buddha of Bodhgaya Temple. This is a temple which is built in the shape of a small statue of the Buddha that is surrounded by a large moat and adorned with a large golden gate.
