Beijing Sanyuanshanqie - The Three Longest Overpasses on Earth

Beijing Sanyuanqiao is a huge overpass over the northeast section of Beijing's Third Ring Road. It was opened in 1984 to facilitate high-speed rail transit from Beijing to Shanghai. Although it has undergone many changes since that time, it still serves its original purpose. If you are looking for an excellent place to take photos of the capital, this is a very good option to visit.

Located in the northeast section of Beijing, the Beijing Sanyuanqi bridge is about eight miles long. The two-lane road runs over a high bridge and curves down into a valley. The bridge itself was made from steel and aluminum and weighs about four hundred tons. It is located right on the Huangpu River, where it meets the Yangtse. The bridge was built to accommodate the rapid expansion of the metropolitan area and the demand for high-speed trains. In fact, it was built for this purpose. It is also used by several railway lines to link other parts of the metropolitan area.

In the distance from the Huangpu River is the Beijing Sanyuanqiang Lu, which is the longest overpass in the entire city. However, it is the second largest bridge. Built in 1931, it can provide easy access from the east to the west. It has a total length of five kilometers and is situated on the bank of the Huangpu River at the north of the Xintang River.

The Beijing Sanyuanqi, which has been called the Second Huangpu Bridge, was built in 1933. It is not part of the urban development yet but has already gained a reputation as being one of the world's great bridges. The road runs under the eastern section of the old Bund road and is surrounded by the Bund River. It is situated next to the Xintang River, the Bund River and the Huangpu River at the south of the Pudong district.

A bit further away is the Beijing Sanyuanquanqie which is the third longest overpass. It is also located under the eastern section of the old Bund Road. The road curves down from the Bund River and curves up toward the riverbank. This part is also home to the Beijing Sanyuanqi. and the Beijing Sanyuanglu.

You can take a train or a bus from the downtown stations and go to the Beijing Sanyuanshanqie. It's a four kilometers long elevated railway line and connects the Huangpu Riveride to the outskirts of the city. However, there are buses available that can take you directly to the Beijing Sanyuanshanqie.
