A Guide to the Guangzhou North Rail Station

Guangzhou North Rail Station is located on the south-western bank of Huangpu River, which is at the foot of Huangpu Mountain. Previously called Huadu Street, it was renamed in 2009 after a thorough renovation and improvement. It's about 16 miles from Guangzhou railway station, about 35 miles from East Guangzhou, about 35 miles from South Guangzhou, and about 21 miles from West Guangzhou. This railway station was designed with the aim to provide easy access to the major business districts of Guangzhou. The station is connected to the rest of the railway network through three tunneled stations which are the Maoming, Mailing, and Xindian stations.

The railway station has five platforms; three at its south-west end, two at its north-east end and one at its west-end. The railway station is not very crowded, though there is one line that runs through the station at rush hours. The train operating in this line runs to and from Beijing, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

You will find a main gate, one entrance for each platform, two escalators that lead down to the street, four stations on the north-west, east and south-west, and one station on the north-east. The railway station has three tunnels, one underground, one above ground and the last one on a road. The underground tunnel connects Maoming station with the Maoming Causeway, while the underground tunnel leads to Xindian Road. To get to the other tunnels, you have to go down to the Maoming Causeway and to the Xindian Road escalator.

In the north-west section, the line runs directly between Maoming Causeway and Maibing station. From Maibing, you can take a train to Shenzhen and then take a flight to Hong Kong or Macau. From there, you can travel either by plane or train to Beijing. or other parts of China. The trains take about six and a half hours, so it is faster than using the ferry in Hong Kong or the Shanghai-Guangzhou Express.

In the south section, the railway station is linked to the east and south-west sections by escalators. The south-west escalators run to the south-west of the station and to the Maoming Causeway. On this escalator, you can go to the Maoming Causeway Station or a station on the north-west of the Causeway. In the south-west section, the north-east escalator leads to the east section. The east-west escalators lead to the South Line. The south-east escalators lead to the South Line.
