Shanghai South Station
Shanghai South station is an ancient railway station on the edge of the city of Shanghai. Located in the Xuchui District, it is second to none when it comes to importance.
The original Shanghai South railway station was built during the nineteenth century. It was designed by the famous engineer of the time, Zhu Rong. A complete renovation has been carried out in recent years, and the station is now one of the most modern railway stations in China. A new round-the-clock service was introduced last year. It runs between the Central Business district of the city and the airport, in addition to offering train services to some rural areas.
The original railway was built with a single track. It was built to link the town of Shanghai to the nearby town of Huangshan, which is located in Henan Province. The two main lines of the line, the Sanyu and the Zhulong Lines, run north from the Huangshan railway terminus.
The railway line was designed to link the cities of Shanghai and Nanjing, which are located in eastern China. However, a railway station was not built between these two cities, as they had their own separate railway network. Because of this, a separate line was established to connect Nanjing and Shanghai.
With the expansion of the Shanghai railway, there were no longer any need for a station near Huangshan. A new circular loop was built on the west bank of the Huangshan River, linking Huangshan to Xujiahui and then to the other banks of the Huangshan River. This new line was referred to as the Huashan Line and has since become one of the busiest and best known in all of the modern history of the Chinese railway system. It is one of the most important lines on the entire Chinese railway system.
Today, the Huashan Line connects all of the railway stations in southern Shanghai to one another. In addition to the Huashan Line, a new line called the Gansu Line runs south from Huangshan, to the cities of Fengcheng and Jining. To connect these stations to the western rail terminals in Shanghai, a new line called the Wangfu Line was opened. which will provide further connections to other major cities. The Huashan Line had also changed hands several times in the past.
The Huangshan Line itself has changed hands several times in the recent years, with several different groups of investors coming forward and offering to take it over. One of these groups was the Shanghai South Railway Corporation. This group offered to buy the line, and create a new line of high-class trains on the old line.
This group of investors made a proposal to the Shanghai government to buy the line and then turn it into a luxury train terminal. This group was willing to pay the government an extremely high price, of about a billion dollars. This price was more than what the original line was worth at the time. Although, after the original group lost its bid for the railway, a new group came forward, and offered to purchase the line. it, which ended up being the Shanghai South Railway Company.
